I just had these put in my 2006 Subaru Impreza today, and they sound nice. Based on the size, don't expect much bass out of these without distortion--low-end frequency is rated at 75-Hz--not really all that low. The separate tweeter is very nice. Expect decent sound from these speakers for mid to high frequencies. Don't expect to be amazed by them, though. Note that Infinity rates these as "True 4 Ohm" speakers. The voice coil is 2 Ohms, but resistance increases due to heat when operational and due to wire and interconnects leading from the deck to the speakers. These speakers are running fine on my Kenwood deck rated for 4-8 Ohm speaker impedance.

DCM Loudspeakers are the best sounding loudspeakers in my opinion... thats why I have 2 of this type of speaker (kx-12) and 2 of the kx-212 type (the ones with two 12" subs instead of just one like this). when the kx212's were brand new -in 1995 i think- they were being sold at Circuit City for around $900 [Correct me if I'm wrong]. But I bout the KX-212s for only $19 at a swap-meet. I bought these bad boys (KX-12) at a garage sale across the street for $5 a piece!!!! I thought these things were kind of rare!! and here I was, not knowing that my neighbor has DCM KX-12's !!! Many boomboxes and stereos in the '80s and '90s had little metal discs "tweeters," often with grilles shaped to make them look like horn tweeters, that were wired up but didn't seem to actually do anything. Here I solve the question of whether these "super tweeters" really make any sound or if they're just totally fake. I also demonstrate one of a pair of 12-inch vintage 1962 woofers that were rescued from a Lowrey Brentwood tube-type electronic organ that was being dismantled about 7 years ago. I've had them crudely bolted into a pair of cardboard boxes ever since, and now I'm thinking of finally giving them a proper home in some real speaker cabinets with good midranges and tweeters to match. Providing the sound for both is a 1986 Realistic SA-10 mini stereo amplifier. This was one of Radio Shack's longest-lived pieces of audio equipment, sold all the way from the 1970s up to 1994. With 1.2 watts per channel it won't rattle any window panes, but its simple 10-transistor design gives excellent unmolested clean sound.

Was board one day and after looking at utube at sub in a box stuff i decided to give it a go with a spare speaker. Speaker according to print on magnet: "Awia 88-MS1-603-01 U78eb" It doesn't sound to well as the sides of the box are moving to much. I added the flap just to show air passing through the port Box: BT Jabra 210 (lots of tape) Port: Lid off Oil can Song: Clones ft. busta - "Ass On Fire"? Former DCS Charles Barnet, who is to be a guest speaker, is keen to be taken out on patrol, and pcs Stamp and Casper take him out in the area car. The pcs are embarrassed by the old-fashioned attitudes of the former detective, who puts his back out while helping them with an arrest. pcs Valentine and Hemmingway investigate a road traffic accident in which an eight-year-old boy has been killed by a joy-rider. Witnesses confirm that the boy had run in front of the car. Supt Prosser tells the father that the driver will only be charged with minor offences, and he takes the news badly. PC Bryant is surprised when a man calling himself Gabriel Kent calls in at the station and asks to see Sgt Ackland. She mentions this to PC Kent, who dismisses the visitor as a local nutter. Kent goes to see his adopted brother, who quickly realises that David has stolen his identity. Meanwhile, the dead boy's father turns up at the station and demands that his son's killer be prosecuted.

After many years of great sound, my Infinity speakers fell apart in my Integra. With a limited budget, I looked at many different 6.5" speakers and bought this after hearing some Dual speakers at a nearby store. I am pleased. The construction is solid, and the mounting depth is fairly shallow, making the installation easy. These speakers are a bit bigger than many 6.5" speakers, but that is the only drawback. The sound is much better than I expected. The midrange is a bit heavy, but the tweeter is smooth without being screechy. The bottom end is not boomy. I plan on buying another pair for my wife's car!

No other programs or tweaks or anything was installed... Only default settings after the hard reset K My nightmare ... The problem. On every (average) 10 calls I made, the Diamond restarts by it self in the middle of the conversation. Its usually 5-10 seconds after the call is established announced with some "electrical brruum" noise in the speaker. In the beginning I was thinking that this is something with the software settings and I did checked all the network settings but so far no progress. Yesterday I tested the phone by leaving it next to the radio with the connection established for 25 minutes with my wife`s phone, on the same T-mobile network. This test went without any problems. Twice... (Note: Its a free call for people in my circle - T-Mobile package) Today I had more restarts. Two of them were in my car ( for the first time) with the loud speaker "on" and 5 restarts during a regular call. So far all the restarts happened only when I dialed the numbers. I cant provoke the restart and I cant diagnose the problem. This is slowly becoming a huge problem for me. I did two hardware restarts but there were no changes also. No tweaks were applied ... Has anyone experienced any similar problems? I had to get crazy deep, wicked low bass tracks because the windows will flex way better, and vibrate car alarms, shake windows, pop out eyes lol...Steve poped a ladies out with HAHA!.... Most of these were bass songs I made myself, or played biggest from cd's I own. The are best played on inane car stereo systems like 4 18's, or 4 15's... I can't wait to get my next high performance audio set up. I am going to have a wall of subs facing the driver. It's going to be the loudest sound system in maine. I hope to be able to hit term-lab numbers in the high 150's. db drag will hel[ with practice, and bass race for accuracy. I can't wait! NESPL !

I purchased In March 2009 & have loved it since! I have a 99 Lincoln Continental & so trunk space was not an issue & I have had many other systems in other cars! Since my 1st infinity purchase in 2000 I have used only Infinity Kappa!! But these are great & have just as much bass as my older 2 12" kappa's & Love the box these come in! When & if I blow these subs I will use this box for some Infinity Kappa Perfect 12"s!
I was skeptical about a loaded enclosure untill now! I have 450x2 Rms amp on these with another 4 channel running all 6 speakers in car & have a 1/0 guage wire kit with a dist.box that breaks into 2-4 gauge wires! Clarity of Infnity is known with amps!
I listen to rock,rap,punk,classical & these subs perform like champs & have the solid hit of bass from rock or rap drums & I even tried a bass comp CD & holly crap! My firnds have spent 00's more for over priced hyped up junk! But unless your going comp. These are great!The shake the hell out of my big car & I can't get rid of the rattles I have outside of car becuase its the trunk lid,tail lights & underside of the car that rattles & I cant keep a full can of soda in the cup holder with out it spinning around & going flat quick!! Trust me you can feel your ears & nose vibrate with most songs!! Just now wishing I had a hatchback now!!

Slipstream Port
The Infinity Reference 1220de provides superior performance to competing loaded enclosures primarily due to its revolutionary Slipstream Port. The slipstream port provides lots of surface area outside the box so that the air stays stuck together--the engineers call it an "Adverse Pressure Gradient." That gradual change from high pressure to low pressure eliminates the distortion we hear as "whacking." Because the area of the port in the middle is much smaller than the mouth of the port, the port can be MUCH shorter than a cylindrical port with a surface area the same as Slipstream's mouth. That means it can fit into regular boxes. Stickiness outside the box is maximized by increasing pressure and stickiness inside the port is minimized by reducing velocity. The benefit of this technology is more bass output with greatly reduced port noise and distortion.
